SONG LYRICS FOR BOTH ALBUMS
“NOTHING BUT YOU LORD”
1. Nothing but You Lord (by William Price Garrott, OP)
The more we seek material things
The less we look to heaven;
But the more we seek the spiritual things,
The less we need for living.
So I pray.
I look to you night and day.
“Non nisi Te, Domine!”
Give me nothing but You, Oh Lord, my God!
This is all I pray.
Where your treasure is your heart will be.
Seek ye first the Kingdom.
The Crucified reigns gloriously
Revealing Heaven’s wisdom. (Refrain)
So I pray.
I look to you night and day.
“Non nisi Te, Domine!”
Give me nothing but You, Oh Lord, my God!
This is all I pray.
“Non nisi Te, Domine!”
Give me only yourself, Oh Lord!
“Non nisi Te, Domine!”
Give me only yourself Oh Lord, my God!
Non nisi Te, Domine! Non nisi Te, Domine!
The title of this song is taken from a story about St. Thomas Aquinas near the end of his life. Our Lord appears to him and says, “You have written well of me, Thomas; what would you have me give you in return?” St. Thomas replied: “None nisi Te, Domine!” which is Latin for “Nothing but You, O Lord!”
2. EVERYTHING I OWN (by David Gates)
You sheltered me from harm
Kept me warm, kept me warm
You gave my life to me
Set me free, set me free.
The finest years I ever knew
Were all the years I had with you
And I would give anything I own
I'd give up my life, my heart, my home
I would give everything I own
Just to have you back again
You taught me how to love
What it's of, what it's of
You never said too much
But still you showed the way
And I knew from watching you
Nobody else could ever know
The part of me that can't let go
And I would give anything I own
I'd give up my life, my heart, my home
I would give everything I own
Just to have you back again
Is there someone you know
Your loving them so
But taking them all for granted?
You may lose them one day
Someone takes them away
And they don't hear the words you long to say
I would give anything I own
I'd give up my life, my heart, my home
I would give everything I own
Just to have you back again
Just to touch you once again.
3. HE TURNED THE WATER INTO WINE (by Johnny Cash)
Refrain: He turned the water into wine, he turned the water into wine. In the little Cana town the word went all around that he turned the water into wine.
Well he walked upon the Sea of Galilee, he walked upon the Sea of Galilee. Shout it far and wide: he calmed the raging tide and walked upon the Sea of Galilee.
Refrain
He fed the hungry multitude, he fed the hungry multitude. With a little fish and bread, they said every one was fed. He fed the hungry multitude.
Refrain
He healed the leper and the lame, he healed the leper and the lame. He said "Go and tell no man" but they shouted it through the land, they said that he healed the leper and the lame.
Refrain
4. IF YOU ONLY KNEW (by Philip L. Naish and Robert Ballou Mathes)
By my grandfather's bed, my mother is reading
Psalm 62: "God is our refuge."
My grandfather stirs, could it be
He is waking, one final time
He has something to say:
If you only knew what lies awaiting,
If you could only see what I can see,
If you could only hear the music playing,
The angels singing sweet victory!
Oh, if you only knew, if you only knew,
How much he loves you!
By my grandfather's bed, my mother is broken,
Psalm 17: "O God I call on you."
She doesn't want to hear
Any words about leaving.
My grandfather says:
"Fear not, this is my time,
And into his presence I'll fly"
If you only knew what lies awaiting,
If you could only see what I can see,
If you could only hear the music playing,
The angels singing sweet victory!
Oh, if you only knew, if you only knew,
How much he loves you....
5. IN CHRIST ALONE (by Keith Getty and Stuart Townend)
In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My comforter, my all in all
Here in the love of Christ I stand
In Christ alone who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
Till on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live
There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ
No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
Till He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand.
6. KNOCKIN’ ON HEAVEN’S DOOR (by Bob Dylan)
Mama, take this badge off of me
I can't use it anymore
It's gettin' dark, too dark to see
I feel I'm knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Mama, put my guns in the ground
I can't shoot them anymore
That long black cloud is comin' down
I feel I'm knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
7. RAISE HIM UP (by Rivers Rutherford and Robert Royer)
When I first met his momma, she was just 19;
Couldn't say for certain who the father was.
But I have known him since he was a pup
And I'm gonna raise him up
If you never knew your daddy like I never knew mine,
It feels like everybody knows you’re fatherless.
This boy may not be blood of my blood
But I'm gonna raise him up.
I'll provide for him
Walk beside of him
I am strong enough
‘Cause it’s time he knew
What a son can do
With a father’s love
He can change the world.
You only have to look at Joseph
A couple thousand years ago,
When he held a newborn baby he named Jesus.
He said he may not be blood of my blood
But I'm gonna raise him up.
I'll provide for him
Walk beside of him
I am strong enough
I will show him too
What a son can do
With a father’s love
And he will change the world.
33 years later
When the son was in his grave
Broken and abandoned by a world he came to save
His real dad said he's mine,
Blood of my blood
And I'm gonna raise him up.
I'll provide for you,
Walk beside of you.
I am strong enough
‘Cause I have seen from you,
What a son can do,
With a fathers love.
One man changed the world,
And he can change your world
But you gotta raise him up.
Raise him up.
8. SHOWER THE PEOPLE (by James Taylor)
You can play the game and
You can act out the part
Though you know it wasn’t written for you.
Tell me how can you stand there
With your broken heart
Ashamed of playin' the fool?
One thing can lead to another
It doesn't take any sacrifice.
Oh, father and mother, sister and brother.
If it feels nice don't think twice
Just shower the people you love with love.
Show them the way that you feel
Things are gonna work out fine
If you only will
Do as I say.
Shower the people you love with love
Show them the way that you feel
Things are gonna be much better
If you only will.
You can run but you cannot hide
This is widely known.
Now what you plan to do with your foolish pride
When you're all by yourself alone,
Once you tell somebody
The way that you feel,
You can feel it beginning to ease.
I think it's true what they say
About the squeaky wheel
Always getting the grease.
Better to shower the people you love with love
Yes and show them the way that you feel
I know things are gonna be just fine
If you only will, what I like to do to you.
Shower the people you love with love
Show them the way that you feel
Things are gonna be much better, if you only will
Shower the people you love with love
Show them the way you feel….
9. TEARS IN HEAVEN (by Eric Clapton and Will Jennings)
Would you know my name?
If I saw you in heaven
Would it be the same?
If I saw you in heaven
I must be strong
And carry on
'Cause I know I don't belong
Here in heaven.
Would you hold my hand?
If I saw you in heaven
Would you help me stand?
If I saw you in heaven
I'll find my way
Through night and day
'Cause I know I just can't stay
Here in heaven
Time can bring you down
Time can bend your knees
Time can break your heart
Have you begging please
Begging please
Beyond the door
There's peace, I'm sure
And I know there'll be no more
Tears in heaven
10. WHEN MAMA PRAYED (by Paul Overstreet and Rory Lee)
Daddy never went to church on Sunday
He said that's one thing I'll never do
Mama never gave up she said one day
He'll be sitting here beside me and you
I can still hear Mama softly talking
Her tears falling on her folded hands
So that Easter Sunday Daddy walked in
That's when I began to understand:
When Mama prayed, good things happened
When Mama prayed, lives were changed
Not much more than five foot tall
But mountains big and small
Crumbled all away when Mama prayed.
Seventeen and wild I hit the bottle
Doing anything I dang well pleased
Burning down life's highway on full throttle,
While Mama burned a candle on her knees
Then one night I came home half sober
I saw Mama kneeling in the den
As I listened, she and Jesus talked it over
And I knew my restless days were 'bout to end.
‘Cause when Mama prayed, good things happened
When Mama prayed, lives were changed
Not much more than five foot tall
But mountains big and small
Crumbled all away when Mama prayed.
It isn't like every one of them got answered
But the times they weren't seems to me were rare.
You almost felt sorry for the devil,
‘Cause heaven knows he didn't have prayer
When Mama prayed.
Not much more than five foot tall
But mountains big and small
Crumbled all away when Mama prayed
Crumbled all away when Mama prayed.
11. WONDER (by Amanda Falk)
May we never lose our wonder
May we never lose our wonder
Wide eyed, mystified, may we be just like a child
Staring at the beauty of our King.
May we never lose our wonder
May we never lose our wonder
Wide eyed, mystified, may we be just like a child
Staring at the beauty of our King.
‘Cause You are beautiful in all Your ways.
You are beautiful in all your ways.
Repeat
12. YOU RAISE ME UP (by Rolf Lovland and Brendan Graham)
When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary
When troubles come and my heart burdened be
Then I am still and wait here in the silence
Until you come and sit awhile with me
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders
You raise me up to more than I can be
There is no life ' no life without its hunger;
Each restless heart beats so imperfectly;
But when you come and I am filled with wonder
Sometimes, I think I glimpse eternity
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders
You raise me up to more than I can be
You raise me up to more than I can be.

“PREACHER OF GRACE”
1. Preacher of Grace (by William Price Garrott, OP)
See this humble man, walking along o'er the rock and the sand.
He sent his brothers on ahead that he might speak alone with God.
Raising hands above, he begs the Lord to show mercy and love
Towards angry sinners in a town from whence he came preaching Christ.
Brother Dominic, the Preacher of Grace,
You are called by the Lord God!
Go forth with Jesus your Savior
To praise, to bless and to preach!
Now, in fading light this band of preachers arrives for the night.
Though he is hungry and spent, Dominic still yearns to preach.
He calls novices near, Christ crucified shines through eyes filled with tears.
He says: "What does it profit any man
To gain the world yet lose his soul?"
Father Dominic, the Preacher of Grace,
You are called by the Lord God!
Go forth with Jesus your Savior
To praise, to bless and to preach!
Seven* centuries have past since this Doctor of Truth breathed his last.
As on the day when he died, Dominic still speaks these words:
"You must have charity, one for another and guard humility.
Make voluntary poverty your only treasure in life.
Children of Dominic: Be preachers of grace!
You are called by the Lord God!
Go forth with Jesus your Savior
To praise, to bless and to preach;
to praise, to bless and to preach!

*St. Dominic died on August 4, 1221 - over “eight” centuries ago now!
2. Adam Where Are You (by Don Francisco)
Unashamed and naked in a garden that has never seen the rain. Rulers of a kingdom, full of joy, never marred by any pain. The morning all around them seems to celebrate the life they’ve just begun; and in the majesty of innocence the king and queen come walking in the sun.
But the Master of deception now begins with his dissection of the Word and with all his craft and subtlety the serpent twists the simple truth they've heard. While hanging in the balance is a world that has been placed at their command and all their unborn children die as both of them bow down to Satan's hand.
Just before the evening in the cool of the day, they hear the voice of God as He is walking and they cannot abide His presence so they try to hide away, but still they hear the sound as He is calling:
Adam, Adam where are you? Adam, Adam where are you?
In the stifling heat of summer now the gardener and his wife are in the fields. And it seems that thorns and thistles and the only crop his struggles ever yield.
He eats his meals in sorrow till he sinks into the dust from whence he came, but all down through the ages, he can hear his Maker calling out his name:
Adam, Adam, where are you? Adam, Adam, where are you? Adam, Adam, I love you!
3. This Is Why Jesus Came (by William Price Garrott, OP)
“Son of David, have pity on me!” “Bartimeus, you blind old fool! Be silent; let the Master be!” Will He hear me, lost in my darkness? All my life I have longed for this: “Lord, I want to see!”
This is why Jesus came, to heal the blind and the lame, to preach good news to the poor and to set the captives free.
This is why Jesus came: to feel the depth of your pain to give you strength to endure and to lead you to victory.
They will stone her if the Master lets them. In the sand he begins to draw: “He who is sinless, cast a stone.” “Woman, who condemns you?” “No one, Sir!” she answered. “Neither do I condemn you but go and sin no more.”
This is why Jesus came, to heal the blind and the lame, to preach good news to the poor and to set the captives free.
This is why Jesus came: to feel the depth of your pain to give you strength to endure and to lead you to victory.
“Go tell John what you hear and see: The deaf can hear and the lame walk free. Lepers are cleansed, the dead are raised and those who once were blind now see!”
This is why Jesus came: to feel the depth of your pain to give you strength to endure and to lead you to victory.
Jeshua! Messiah! Maranatha! The Healer of Yisrael! (Repeat)

4. No One Believes In Me Anymore (by Keith Green and Melody Green)
Well, my job keeps gettin' easier as time keeps slippin' away. I can imitate the brightest light; make your night look just like day. I’ve put some truth in every lie to tickle itching ears. You know, I'm drawing people just like flies, they like what they hear.
I'm gaining power by the hour, they're falling by the score. You know, it's getting very simple now since no one believes in me anymore!
Heaven's just a state of mind, my books read on your shelf. Or have you heard that God is dead? I made that up myself. They’re dabbling in magic spells; they get their fortunes read. You know, they've heard the truth but turned away and they’ve followed me instead.
Well, I used to have to sneak around; now they just open up their doors. You know, no one's watching for my tricks since no one believes in me anymore.
Everyone likes a winner: with my help, you’re guaranteed to win! Hey man, you ain’t no sinner, no, you’ve got the truth within. And as your life slips by you’ll believe the lie that you did it on your own but don’t worry: I’ll be there to help you share a dark eternal home, a dark eternal home.
Well, my job keeps getting easier as day slips into day. The magazines, the newspapers, print every word I say. This world is just my spinning top; it's all like child's play. You know, I dream that it will never stop but I know it's not that way.
Still my work goes on and on, always stronger than before. You know, I'm gonna make it dark before the dawn since no one believes in me anymore, no one believes in me anymore, no one believes in me anymore!
5. Save Me From The Snare - based Psalm 86 (by William Price Garrott, OP)
O My God! Place Your hand upon me and rescue me! O my God! Save me from the snare of my enemy. I’ll wait for Thee, I’ll trust in Thee to lead me through the night.
Turn Your ear, Lord, give answer for I am poor and I am needy. Preserve my life, for I am faithful: Save the servant who trusts in You. Come, Oh Lord and save me!
O My God! Place Your hand upon me and rescue me! O my God! Save me from the snare of my enemy. I’ll wait for Thee, I’ll trust in Thee to lead me through the night.
Lord, You are good and forgiving, full of love to who call You. Give heed, O Lord, to my prayer and attend to the sound of my voice. Come, Oh Lord! Jesus, save me!
O My God! Place Your hand upon me and rescue me! O my God! Save me from the snare of my enemy. I’ll wait for Thee, I’ll trust in Thee to lead me through the night.
I praise You Lord my God with all my heart and glorify Your Name forever. Your love for me has been great: You have saved me from the depths of the grave. Come, oh Lord, and save me! Come and save me!
O My God! Place Your hand upon me and rescue me! O my God! Save me from the snare of my enemy. I’ll wait for Thee, I’ll trust in Thee to lead me through the night.
Come and save me.…

6. Behold Now The Kingdom (by John Michael Talbot)
A multitude followed a man: A prophet who spoke words of wisdom. And they listened trying’ to understand the paradox of his great truth.
He said, “Blessed are those who are poor for you shall inherit the Kingdom. And blessed are those who are weak, for you shall inherit great strength.”
Blessed be those who are children, for you shall be counted as wise. Blessed be the blind men, for you shall see with new eyes.
Behold now the Kingdom. Behold now the Kingdom. Behold now the Kingdom, see with new eyes!
Blest be those of compassion for you shall inherit compassion. And blessed be those who forgive, for you shall be forgiven.
You shall receive consolation only in reaching to give. Only in dying for others can you be reborn to live.
Behold now the Kingdom. Behold now the Kingdom. Behold now the Kingdom, see with new eyes!
A multitude followed a man, a prophet who spoke words of wisdom. And they listened, yet could not understand the paradox of his great truth.
7. A Strong City (by William Price Garrott, OP)
A strong city have we. He sets up walls and ramparts to protect us. Open up the gate to let in a nation that is just, one that keeps faith.
A nation of firm purpose You keep in peace, in peace for its trust in You. Trust in the Lord forever, for He is an eternal rock!
A strong city have we. He sets up walls and ramparts to protect us. Open up the gate to let in a nation that is just, one that keeps faith.
He humbles those He finds in high places; the lofty city He brings down. It is trampled underfoot by the needy, by the footsteps of the poor.
A strong city have we. He sets up walls and ramparts to protect us. Open up the gate to let in a nation that is just, one that keeps faith, one that keeps faith, one that keeps faith!

8. It Could've Been Me (by Phil Keaggy/Sheila Walsh)
I heard the news today that another soldier tumbled, a fragile warrior slipped and fell from grace.
The vultures swooped to tear his heart and pin him to the ground and from the shadows someone took his place.
Today we talk amongst ourselves, we never bought his words. We say we've seen the madness in his eyes. Tomorrow he's forgotten as we've scrubbed him from our hearts and as he bleeds we slowly turn our eyes.
But it could've been me. I could have been the one to lose my grip and fall. It could've been me: the one who's always standing tall. For unless you hold me tightly, Lord, and I can hold on too, then tomorrow in the news it could be me. It could be me.
And in our hearts we fear the ones whose lives are like our own, whose shadows dance like demons in our minds. We think to push them far away. We exorcise our souls. We make them play the tune for all mankind.
Today we talk amongst ourselves, we never bought their words. We say we've seen the madness in their eyes. Tomorrow they're forgotten as we've scrubbed them from our hearts and as they bleed we slowly turn our eyes.
But I believe there is a place where we can run and hide when we know that we can't stand for one more day. And I believe you're waiting, Lord to hold me very close, for you know without your love I'd lose my way.
And it could've been me. I could have been the one to lose my grip and fall. It could've been me: the one who's always standing tall. For unless you hold me tightly, Lord, and I can hold on too, then tomorrow in the news it could be me. It could be me.
9. Everlasting Love (by William Price Garrott, OP)
Lord, it is good for me to be here offering all my tears, in the depth of my heart I have felt the gentle touch of Your everlasting love.
Dying in darkness, I sought out Your light with my tears, I offered my prayer, confessing my sins to You, my prayers.
Lord, it is good for me to be here offering all my tears, in the depth of my heart I have felt the gentle touch of Your everlasting love.
You heard my pleading and rescued my life, from the grip of bitter despair: You healed all my wounds with Your love, my Savior.
Lord, it is good for me to be here offering all my tears, in the depth of my heart I have felt the gentle touch of Your everlasting love.
You gave me new life by Your death on the Cross. Joy and peace, You granted me, You opened Your heart for me, my Savior.
Lord, it is good for me to be here offering all my tears, in the depth of my heart I have felt the gentle touch of Your everlasting love.

10. Little Ones (by Phil Keaggy)
Who will speak up for the little ones, helpless and half abandoned? They've got a right to choose life they don't want to lose, I've got to speak up won't you?
Equal rights, equal time, for the unborn children. Their precious lives are on the line, oh how can we be rid of them,
Passing laws, passing out bills and new amendments, pay the cost and turnabout and face the young defendants?
Who will speak up for the little ones, helpless and half abandoned? They've got a right to choose life they don't want to lose, I've got to speak up won't you?
Many come and many go, conceived but not delivered. The toll is astronomical, oh how can we be indifferent?
Precious hands, precious feet, tears for him who made you, should all on earth forsake you now, yet He'll never forsake you.
Who will speak up for the little ones, helpless and half abandoned? They've got a right to choose life they don't want to lose, I've got to speak up won't you?
Forming hearts, forming minds, quenched before awakened. For so many deliberate crimes, the world will soon be shaken.
Precious hands, precious feet, tears for him who made you, should all on earth forsake you now, yet He'll never forsake you.
Who will speak up for the little ones, helpless and half abandoned? They've got a right to choose life they don't want to lose, I've got to speak up won't you? I’ve got to speak up won’t you?
11. No Longer I (by William Price Garrott, OP)
It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. I still live my human life but it is a life of faith in the Son of God Who loved me and gave Himself for me.
If I must boast, let it be in the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me and I've become a new creation.
It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. I still live my human life but it is a life of faith in the Son of God Who loved me and gave Himself for me.
For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is the power of God for our salvation for everyone who would believe.
It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. I still live my human life but it is a life of faith in the Son of God Who loved me and gave Himself for me.

12. Only in God (by William Price Garrott, OP)
Only, only in God will my soul find, find all the comfort I seek, only in God will I rest in peace.
As the deer longs for the fresh running waters, so my soul longs for the life giving presence of my Lord.
Only, only in God will my soul find, find all the comfort I seek, only in God will I rest in peace.
I will hold fast to the love of my Savior, even if Jesus would ask me to suffer, I will obey.
Only, only in God will my soul find, find all the comfort I seek, only in God will I rest in peace.

13. Hymn of Salvation (by William Price Garrott, OP)
Now have salvation and power come, the kingdom of our God, the authority of His Anointed!
For the accuser of our brothers is cast out. He accused them before our God, day and night since that moment in the garden when he tempted Adam and Eve.
They conquered him by the Blood of the Lamb, by their word of testimony. Love for life could not deter them from death; now they’re singing songs of praise unto the Lamb seated on his holy throne.
Now have salvation and power come, the kingdom of our God, the authority of His Anointed!
Rejoice you heavens and you that dwell in them! But woe to you earth and sea, for the Devil has come down to you in great fury, for he knows his time is short.
Now have salvation and power come, the kingdom of our God, the authority of His Anointed!
